Studio Lead – Architect

Job Description:

We are searching for a Studio Leader for our LA office with over 10 years’ experience and a successful record in managing multiple project team schedules and delivery.

Experience in managing schedules and delivering work for all project phases is required including project set-up, concept development, design development, construction documents, and construction administration, through post-occupancy.

As a Studio Leader at KAP Studios, you will have overall project responsibility for delivering KAP’s projects in LA, managing resourcing and labour plans, quality control, tracking project financial performance and nurturing the development of junior staff.

You will work closely with the three Partners and junior staff on a daily basis.

Manage project resourcing, ensuring projects are scheduled and staffed to deliver excellent work Maintain a studio schedule that is consistently focused and utilized on billable project work Build clear communication with a diverse and talented in house team Support studio culture and inspire a connected team Streamline and manage general policy and procedure Manage designer’s career path mapping and training plans for development Manage and track financial performance of projects
Qualifications:
Professional Architectural Degree preferred Over five years’ experience in a project management role, and 10 years of experience in the field of architecture Strong leadership, organization, communication and relationship management skills Experience with the entire project delivery from proposal to completion and post-occupancy review Experience leading, managing, and mentoring multiple project teams, including the ability to create and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and requirements Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility Proficient in a range of software including Revit, Microsoft Office, Excel and Adobe Suite Business acumen, people skills and a deep understanding of the traditional functions of the architect are indispensable Considerable experience with projects in the residential and office sectors Proven track record of working and delivering projects in LA county and California Architectural license valid in the state of California
