Structural Engineer

nnExponents Buildings and Structures Practice is searching for an Engineer for a position in our Los Angeles, CA office.

The individual in this position will be responsible for performing tasks and executing projects related to structural engineering; building technology, analysis of complex structures; inspection of damaged structures and associated engineering failure analysis; and preparation of technical reports and presentations of findings.

Specific responsibilities will include conducting field investigations and diagnostic surveys, analytical and computer problem solving, independently managing small projects, and developing and maintaining client relations.  An ideal candidate should be a licensed Professional Engineer with an outstanding professional reputation and publications, preferably with a developing client base in similar market areas.nn nnQualifications for this position include:nn nnM.S.

or Ph.D.

in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related fieldA minimum of 4 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering related occupationProfessional Engineering License or Structural Engineering License in CaliforniaExcellent and creative problem solving abilityOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsEffective leadership skills with ability to positively interact with professionals, technical staff, and administrative staffAbility to work independently as well as lead and work in multi-disciplinary teamsStrong desire to work in a fast-paced consulting environmentPrevious hands-on experience in the construction industry or analysis, inspection, and evaluation of roof causes of failures is a plusnn
