Role Responsibilities
Experience with a variety of structural elements and systems
Design, develop, build, and test structural components, systems, and products
Experience designing and analyzing structures
Sources, selects, and qualifies components used with the company’s technology
Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability
Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources
Investigates alternate component technologies or supplies for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability, and implements changes
Will be involved in all design phases: R&D, POC, Prototype, Pre-production, Production
Hands-on integration and collaboration with multiple disciplines electrical, and other engineering disciplines
Maintain and update product functional specifications
System level understanding and whole picture approach to development
Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment and fast-growing R&D team
Innovative, self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude
May require up to 20% travel
Work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and other Engineering Teams
Experience & Skills Required
BS degree in Engineering (Required) MA in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
Mechanical Engineer should have a basic understanding of manufacturing mechanical systems within the auto industry.
