Capgemini Government Solutions (CGS) LLC is seeking a highly motivated Software Architect for our National Security & Defense Market team to support our government clients. The Software Architect is a multifaceted role working collaborating with other teams across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and managing software systems. Software Architect will provide technical direction to the Developers in building complex systems.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply and grow their skillset in architecture and work with a motivated and entrepreneurial team, engage with a wide range of stakeholders, and build CGS’ capabilities in serving our clients.
As a Software Architect you will:
- Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel and customers
- Gather business requirements, translate into technical requirements
- Design robust solution architectures and estimate implementation efforts
- Advise and help teams of highly skilled engineers
- Actively lead or participate in resolving key issues that impact the performance of the team/project
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science or related discipline
- Excellent written and oral communication; interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- High integrity, reliability and trustworthiness
- Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, Agile methods, and DevOps
- Experience building systems with many software components
- Experience with Java technologies/tooling , Python, Golang, Node
- Experience with RDBMS (MySQL/Miranda, MSSQL, Oracle, etc.)
- Experience with NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Memcached, etc.)
- Experience with Search technologies (Lucene, Solr, ElasticSearch, GSA, Endeca, etc.)
- Experience with Linux OS (Ubuntu, RedHat, Gentoo, etc.)
- Experience with Unix Shell Scripting and/or other scripting languages
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (SAFe, SCRUM, etc.)
- Experience deploying high-availability applications on AWS
- Experience building well-architected cloud infrastructure including concepts such as serverless / micro-services architecture, containerization, etc.
- Working knowledge or broad experience with SVN, GIT, Jira, Bamboo and Confluence
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS in Computer Science
- Experience in CMS and portal-based enterprise solutions
- Experience building SOA, Web Services, Microservices
- Experience implementing high-performance multi-threaded server applications
- Experience building high-availability clustered environments
- Ability to work hands-on with teams to resolve technical issues
- Ability to quickly gain a good understanding of new technologies
- AWS Certifications (Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Developer)
