Shipper/Receiver

Job Description of Shipper/Receiver: Reporting to the Production Supervisor and taking direction from the Lead Hander/Supervisor, the Yard Operator is responsible for safely transporting finished production and outside the plant.

Also responsible for offloading lumber trucks and loading finished product onto outbound trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities of Shipper/Receiver: Ensures all work is performed in a safe manner and have a complete understanding of safety protocols including emergency stop buttons, power switches and proper lockout procedures Knows the OHSA requirements for the designated areas and ensures requirements are met Ensures awareness of all known hazards Ensures appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used properly, is inspected regularly and is maintained Tracks upcoming jobs within the plant and reports to Logistics Department on progress Updates transfer priority list daily and sends transfer paperwork to Logistics Department Enters receiving documentation into Epicor and reports to Purchasing, Project Management and Production Enters receipts into Epicor Details goods received from vendors, compares packing slip to Purchase Order (PO) paperwork and provides report to Purchasing Updates PO tracker daily using Epicor Creates labels for Project material Separates received goods from Plant stock to job-related items; notifies Project Managers when Job-specific items have arrived Recounts, sorts and packages materials for shipment, i.e., hardware and steel, counted and separated to be shipped by load, palletized and wrapped Coordinates with Forklift Operator on daily outbound shipments and on packaging for oversized steel Scans and sends completed vendor packing slips to Purchaser daily and provides physical copies to Accounts Payable (AP)Department Controls inventory and provides weekly and monthly cycle counts on consumables; provides report to Purchasing weekly Completes Overage/Shortage/Damage (OSD) reports as required and follows up with Procurement to maintain vendor performance analysis Participates in yard organization Checks outbound loads for accuracy, completes photographs and necessary documentation Reports loading information to Logistics Coordinators Qualification & Requirements of Shipper/Receiver: All hiring decisions are contingent on the selectee passing background check and drug screening.
