Our location in Irving, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Supplier Development Engineer, Electrical Engineering WHAT YOU’LL DO Senior Supplier Engineer is a position within the sustaining engineering organization that supports the life-cycle design management of invitro diagnostic instruments used in Core Laboratories.

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system, through collaboration with Design Engineering, Supplier Quality and Supplier Manufacturing.

Main Responsibilities The engineer will be responsible for design projects related to diverse electronic systems, printed circuit boards, and peripheral devices.

The engineer will work extensively with cross-functional team members from System Engineering, System Integration, Manufacturing, Field Service, Design Quality, and Supply Chain to support the in-vitro diagnostic product lines.

Work with suppliers and design engineers to drive solutions to address obsolescence, reliability, manufacturing, and cost reductions for electronic systems.

Provide manufacturing process input on design projects while meeting schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

Works with closely with suppliers during development to ensure product manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT) have been met, and providing this feedback back to design in a timely manner.

Support troubleshooting and performs root-cause analyses on product failures occurring in design verification, manufacturing, and field.

Occasionally travels to suppliers, customer sites, or manufacturing sites.

Reviews, generates, and approves product drawings, schematics, layouts, and specifications.

Evaluates supplier capabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING Required Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or closely related discipline with five or more years progressive work experience 4 years of relative professional work experience.

Preferred Bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic engineering or related engineering field 8 years of relevant experience Experience in PCBA design and board layout, fabrications, and PCB manufacturing required.

Strong knowledge of electromechanical processes and products.

Experience with process validation, preferably in an Med device environment.

Experience with Project Management tools and techniques Experience in applying structured root cause corrective action / problem solving techniques Knowledge of the tools and techniques of 6 Sigma methodology Experience working with printed circuit boards power supplies, and other electromechanical equipment.

Candidates should possess professional experience from companies that mfg complex electromechanical instruments (e.g., medical device, aerospace, robotics, automotive).

Supplier Development Engineer candidates should come from a highly regulated environment where they’re used to accurate documentation.

Strong technical writing skills.

Developed negotiation skills are needed.

Polished verbal and written communication skills are needed too.
