The Senior SAP Solutions Architect (PP/MM) will be responsible for applying business and technical expertise to design, implement and support new business capabilities into Cepheids SAP systems and related third party systems!
In this position, you will lead or participate in local or global projects across Manufacturing, Planning, Procurement, Inventory Control, Production Supply and related processes including collaborate with MES!
You will have broad knowledge of SAP and its management.
You should have ability to support sophisticated business functions, translate business requirements into solution designs, and build and implement systems and technical solutions for Operations.
You will also be expected to drive continuous improvements and SAP best practices in support of the company vision and roadmap.
This position is part of the Information Technology Department and it is located in Sunnyvale, CA.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Establish relationships with Manufacturing, Supply Chain (Planning, Procurement, Production stockroom and other related functions) and Quality departments locally in Bay area sites and globally
Collaborate and partner with business teams globally in Manufacturing (and supporting departments such as Quality, product transfer) and Supply Chain Departments to gain a deep understanding of their business processes and requirements
Design, develop, and test system solutions to address business requirements, in alignment with the global solution template
Manage implementation projects as project manager, following Cepheid ITs methodologies and governance model
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure solution designs are well integrated and aligned to the overall enterprise architecture
Configure SAP PP, MM modules (or other modules as needed) to meet business requirements, including integration points with other SAP modules (primarily WM, CO) and
Design, implement, support interfaces with other peripheral system applications such as MES, PLM.
Develop functional specifications for custom developments, and collaborate with the development team to get those built and tested
Provide support to end users for issue resolution, user acceptance testing, and occasionally training
Advise users on ways they can improve their use of the SAP solution
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelors Degree in computer science, Business, (or related) or the equivalent in work experience.
13 + years of experience in IT, passionate about ERP design and management
8 + years experience primarily in SAP Production Planning module and secondary expertise in Materials Management (including Inventory Management) module, with broad exposure to other interfacing modules.
Experience in SAP configuration and business processes in Manufacturing, Planning and Materials Management areas
Expert knowledge of the integration with other ECC modules (especially SD, QM, CO)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Interfacing SAP with external PLM system
Experience in implementation of APS (Advanced Planning System)
Business Intelligence (BI) tools
Managing validated systems
Healthcare / life science industry
