Careers that Change Lives

Impact patient outcomes.

Come for a job, stay for a career.

The Cardiac and Vascular Group brings all our cardiac and vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe.

Cardiac Rhythm Management offers devices and therapies to treat abnormal heart rhythms, as well as cardiac diagnostic and monitoring solutions.

We seek out and hire a diverse workforce at every level: We need fresh ideas and inclusive insights to continue to be an innovative industry leader —that’s why we make it a point to seek out, attract and develop employees who are patient-centric, passionate, and who represent the same wide variety of life experiences as our patients.

As the Cloud Architect of Software Architecture and Technology, you will be reporting to the leader of the Architecture and Technology team of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) R&D organization.

You will be driving the architecture of the components and services of our Cloud Technologies layer, making decisions on IAAS, PAAS, open source and purchased software underpinning both platforms and applications.

These platforms and applications are the software basis of Medtronic’s offerings that alleviate pain, restore health and extend life for over 1.6M patients in 80 geographies using web, mobile and proprietary device clients providing data from implanted devices.

Your development and production usage of software such as Kubernetes, container service mesh, Ansible, Terraform, AWS compute, networking and storage (EBS, EFS, S3, etc) services, plus Identity and Security services will be critical to establishing our Cloud Technologies layer.

Our strategy is cloud agnostic with primary deployment to AWS – but having experience with Azure and Azure Devops would be a nice bonus.

Join a team of highly talented platform and application architects to bring the vision to reality.

Bring your passion and hard-won experience architecting mission critical, web scale applications leveraging microservices, CI/CD and devops with an “Everything as Code” mentality to bear, as we continue to modernize our practices, culture and engineering.

You will drive change into the Cloud Technologies layer as technology, platform and application requirements evolve.

You’re as comfortable white-boarding, discussing and writing as you are doing POC’s to evaluate new technologies and solutions.

You thrive on educating, coaching and mentoring others in our technical community.

You interface, and advocate development’s needs, to the IT organization, leveraging your cross-organizational relationships.

You’re a continuous learner, staying abreast of technology developments of the cloud providers.
