It’s a bold objective that we’re uniquely built to achieve.The Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the overall technical architecture, design, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and network-related infrastructure. This individual is a thought leader in research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This role collaborates closely with business stakeholders as well as Production and Business IT to ensure that the overall Adaptive business computing infrastructure enables business goals.  The Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer contributes to the overall technology roadmap.Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer Key Responsibilities and Essential FunctionsArchitecture, Engineering and ProvisioningContribute to a business-aligned technology roadmapDevelop technology solutions in response to large-scale project and operational needsSpecify, install, and maintain physical and virtual servers, network, and storage equipmentProvide technical input on cloud vs. on-site architecturesDevelop and maintain system installation/configuration procedures and standardsExtensive networking experienceExperience with AnsibleOperations and SupportManage and maintain Adaptive networks and systemsDesign and configure monitoring systems, maintaining system integrity and availabilityPerform regular security and job monitoringDevelop and implement automated systems to report and remediate vulnerabilitiesManage and monitor daily backup operationsProvide support for reactive issues as neededRespond to system outages and incidents as appropriateDevelop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasksTroubleshoot a diverse range of office and lab computing devices and monitoring systems.Coordinate with other technology groups to maintain critical system availabilityBusiness LeadershipCollaborate with business stakeholders to implement solutions supporting company initiativesCommunicate clearly and appropriately at all levels to foster operational transparencyCooperate with the Production IT team to build systems that support both Business and Production requirementsSr IT Infrastructure Engineer Position RequirementsBachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as engineering or computer science, or equivalent industry experience5+ years IT experienceMaster degree & 3+ IT Infrastructure experienceTechnical Abilities:Experience configuring and managing Cisco switches and routers and designing network topologies (VLAN, Subnetting, WAN, switching/routing protocols)Experience managing complex hybrid cloud infrastructuresExtensive experience with the Microsoft server technology stackMicrosoft 365 implementation, administration and troubleshootingAdministration of *NIX server platformsProficient with advanced virtualization platforms, particularly VMWare and AZURESupport and administration including remote administration, end user support including executive supportExcellent knowledge, navigation, administration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Suite of products including SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Knowledge of industry-standard information, security practices, including logging/monitoring, encryption, and auditingAttention to detail and the ability to multi-task to respond to diverse site issues along with core IT subject matter issuesMust be flexible with tasks and schedules, and be able to successfully work in a team environmentAbility to respond to occasional after-hours support issues as neededPreferred Certifications & Experience:Scripting experience with PowerShell and/or PythonExperience coding in BASH, PHP, and/or PerlMicrosoft/Cisco certifications commensurate with experience levelExperience in the Biotech or other life sciences or medical industry is preferredExperience with logging, monitoring and event management (Sumo Logic and Pagerduty)Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer Working ConditionsPrimarily sedentary work in an office environment.Regular weekday work hours, with occasional weekend/after-hours planned or unplanned work as needed.Sr IT Infrastructure Engineer Physical RequirementsOccasional need to lift/move/install computer systems and other equipment.#LI-RemoteWhere permitted by applicable law, applicant must have received, or be willing to receive, a COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for employment.Adaptive Biotechnologies is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
