Join us and lets get started.Job Summary/ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Architect with recognized technical expertise and experience in demanding, design driven projects, you will lead interdisciplinary teams.
Leveraging your industry experience and technical acumen, you will drive a wide range of project types and sizes through all phases of design, documentation, and construction.You are a team leader and will have the opportunity to lead not only from a project perspective, but from a practice and culture standpoint.
The right person will be an integral part of our architecture practice in the region.What you will do:In partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager, you will lead a team, or multiple teams in the technical documentation and delivery of a wide range of projectsPrepare design and contract drawings using advanced design software toolsPrepare alternative design solutions, contract documents and specificationsDevelop solutions to a wide range of difficult technical problemsOversee the work of more junior designers and architectsManage client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultantsSupport communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officialsMinimum RequirementsBachelors degree in Architecture plus a minimum of six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationLicensed ArchitectDue to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is requiredPreferred QualificationsMasters degree in ArchitectureHighly Proficient in Autodesk RevitExperience with Bluebeam, Dynamo, Rhino, SketchUp, and EnscapeExperience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesignAbility to meet quality, schedule and budget expectationsDesire to be mentored by leadership and provide mentorship to junior staffExcellent oral and written communication skillDetail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big pictureMust be a highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skillsAffinity with developing details and experience in construction documentsAbility to work independently and lead large groups of technical minded people with minimal oversightAbility to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlinesAbility to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environmentWorking knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structuresAbility to lead integrated design teams of varying sizes to accomplish project delivery from concept through construction document completion and may perform construction administrationSupport Federal, Civic, Transportation and/or Industrial projects within the last 10 years through all phases of design and constructionDoD and Federal Civilian experienceExperience on Federal Design Build ProjectsProficiency with FGI, UFCs and other federal criteriaNCARB CertifiedAdditional Information:This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.What We OfferWhen you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future.
