_Summary_ This role reports directly to the SVP, Chief Information Officer and will be a key member of the IT Leadership team.
This role will lead the design & development of public and private network architectures, standards, requirements, policies, procedures, and tooling.
The Network Architect will work with Operations, Security, Infrastructure along with the Application teams to continuously improve the resiliency and flexibility of the organizations networking infrastructure This hands-on position will directly contribute to the overall global enterprise network architecture and lead the vision and strategy as it pertains to all networking types including traditional route/switch, virtual route/switch in regard to, datacenter connectivity, and complex wide area networking including SD-WAN.
_Responsibilities_ Design and develop network architectures for on premise datacenters, cloud (public and private) Prepare and deliver training, documentation and network awareness activities to the Network Engineering and Operations teams Develop technical solutions to help mitigate observed gaps in current connectivity solutions and hardware platforms Align to widely accepted networking standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy Adapt networking architecture elements to adapt to new standards as they emerge Conduct advanced research and evaluation of network technology and recommend purchases of network equipment Identify design gaps in existing and proposed networking architectures and recommend changes or enhancements Possess a firm understanding of the interconnectivity within and to VMware, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Microsoft Azure platforms Be a strong technologist with pragmatic view and creative mind, and a natural collaborator with line of business engineers, developers, application owners, and senior management _People & Culture_ Take pro-active steps to ensure the culture of the team aligns with corporate values and behaviors; this will be measured by pulse/survey results, subordinate/employee feedback Establish and maintain an attractive culture that challenges and rewards employees for optimal retention and loyalty, maintaining a balanced profit maximization and customer centric atmosphere Drive cultural alignment and operational consistency across different sites to facilitate collaboration and fostering a sense of belonging and loyalty towards 3D Systems Collaborate cross-functionally to build strong relationships built on mutual trust and respect within the enterprise _Qualifications_ Education and Training Four-year degree from an accredited institution.
Business, MIS, Computer Science, Engineering required.
CCIE Routing and Switching Active Certification Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 12 years of increasing responsibility architecting, positioning, and delivering complex network engineering and architecture solutions.
Proven experience in design and operation of diverse enterprise networks Experience with large wide area networks and migrations to Cisco SD-WAN from traditional connectivity types Deep understanding of Network design in various environments (LAN, WAN, Datacenter, Cloud) Experience with deployment and management of Cisco ISE Strong hands-on technical abilities and attention to detail Experience in a Leadership role Project Management skills Proven ability to lead and mentor others Strong communication skills a must; ability to read, write, and speak in a professional manner Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential Must possess a personal sense of urgency Ability to effectively multi-task and adapt to changing business priorities A strong understanding of firewall concepts (traditional and NextGen) and load balancing Title: Network Architect Location: SC-Rock Hill Requisition ID: 220000IB
