We are seeking Mechanical Engineers (Expert or Principal) in Huntington Beach, CA with experience in the development of mission systems for space and airborne platforms to help lead our mechanical engineering design team for optical sensing systems. Responsibilities will include leading a team of engineers in the design of opto-mechanical systems, sub-systems, and components. This includes conceptual design and layouts, leading trade studies, and detailed design of telescope housings, optical mounts, sun shades, mechanisms, and electronics. The team is responsible for all aspects of design including conceptual design, CAD modeling, structural analysis, and thermal analysis, as well as assembly, integration, and test of the hardware in our electronics and optics labs. Candidates should have both the ability to lead a team as well as extensive experience in doing the engineering work.

We are Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T): Boeing’s global research and development team creating and implementing innovative technologies that make the impossible possible and enabling the future of aerospace.  We are engineers and technicians, skilled scientists and bold innovators; Join us and put your passion, determination, and skill to work building the future!   #TheFutureIsBuiltHere  #ChangeTheWorld

This position is part of the rapidly growing EO/IR Mission Systems team within BR&T. • Lead the mechanical design team on development programs in the design of complex opto-mechanical and electromechanical systems and components for space and airborne sensor systems

  • Lead design trades, including design and layout trades, in alignment with customer requirements.
