Reporting to the Director, Applications, the Manager, Solutions Architect plans, coordinates, directs, and designs Information Technology related activities to help maximize the value of existing software and hardware investments as well as identify and implement new solutions to help support the Dunn-Edwards and NPAA business.

This includes all “on premise” and “cloud” based applications.

This person will also define and implement policies, procedures, technical environmental designs using MS Visio, and best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Work with stakeholders to define business requirements for technology implementations Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads, and end users for related IT activities Keep current with technology and direct research on potential hardware/software solutions Manage financial aspects, including purchasing and budgeting Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives Develop Requests for Proposal (RFP) and work with leadership team to source solutions Negotiate and administer 3rd party vendors, managed services and consultant contracts Leverage negotiation skills to challenge business and IT users on assumptions and help craft innovative and effective solutions Use strong meeting management skills to engage participants in productive work sessions Understand organizational behavior and how it influences business solutions Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously Deliver assigned projects on time and on budget Manage a team, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions Approve and oversee projects and project portfolios
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION
College diploma or university degree in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems and/or 5-7 years equivalent work experience 5-7 years’ experience designing, developing and deploying applications for Store, Manufacturing, Merchandising, Corporate, Supply Chain and/or Business Intelligence systems preferred 3-5 years’ experience in software engineering and design architecture preferred
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations essential.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.

Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
