The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for coordinating the daily run operations including maintenance and administration of infrastructure services as well as lead / participate in local infrastructure projects for APM Terminals in Los Angeles.

Key responsibilities
• Coordinate the daily run operations including maintenance and administration of infrastructure services, ensuring that maintenance activity provides demonstrable value for money
• Supports defining and planning forward capacity, service improvements and value for money enhancements to the services
• Supports teams with Service Delivery so that new projects can be onboarded seamlessly and efficiently into production service operations with no additional unplanned operating costs
• Support the initiation of service improvement plans and drive continual improvement
• Support the creation and management of the infrastructure planning, resource management and budget estimating
• Support for the Disaster Recovery strategy for Pier 400
• Support for addressing any audit requests and remediation efforts for Pier 400
• Provide technical expertise for infrastructure (servers and networks)
• Responsible for overseeing network patching, WAN maintenance, LAN maintenance, office moves, server upgrades, and data center operations
• Manages day to day operations with designated vendors
• Monitor and drive compliance with corporate IT policies and processes
• Drive the development, dissemination, and deployment of both global and local procedures required for compliance within published IT policies
• Ensure that all network inventory and topology diagrams are accurate and updates are timely
• Manage and facilitate weekly Change Approval Board (CAB) meeting with internal and external stakeholders
We are looking for
• Five years of experience in the Information and Technology industry
• Three years of experience working in a virtual environment; VMWare preferred
• Extensive knowledge with networking equipment including routers, switches, workgroup bridges and firewalls
• Experience with wireless networks and technologies; Wi-Fi, LTE, etc.
• Excellent knowledge in datacenter management including environmental planning, rack and stack, HVAC, UPS, cable management
• Experience with desktop management including WinXX, Mac, Remote Desktop/Terminal
• Experience with IT security systems including workstation encryption, ransomware protection, cyber protection, AV/Malware protection
• Experience with audio/video equipment including digital display technologies
• Good working knowledge of CCTV infrastructure including server hardware and software and digital cameras
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science preferred
• Cisco certification is a plus
