Manufacturing Engineer Structures-Supernal

What we do:
The Manufacturing Engineer – Structures is responsible for delivering flight-worthy products and maturation of technologies to meet production cost and rate requirements. Success requires collaboration with other team members, partners, and subject matter experts spanning across the entire product life cycle at the component, system, and aircraft-level. This role embodies the integrated approach to design, build, test flight-worthy components, systems, and aircrafts with an emphasis on airframes and composite/metallic components.
What you can do:
- Develop and implement build plans driven by program achievements, critical paths, and risk registry
- Develop work instructions to build and test flight-worthy components and systems
- Define statement of work and on-board equipment, hardware, and fixtures at work centers
- Drive quality assurance efforts such as incoming inspection, functional testing, process/product buy-off
- Identify and procure the necessary equipment to perform functional testing
- Work with technicians and SMEs to build and test flight-worthy products
- Advocate build team objectives with other verticals, collaborators, and suppliers
- Provide design for manufacturing guidelines to ensure build success across the organization
- Prioritize build initiatives according to product and tech development roadmap
- Apply expertise of technology development partners to speed up product development
- Develop and implement certification plans for novel manufacturing technologies
- Support the fabrication efforts for structural test and demonstration articles
- Develop manufacturing standard practices and guidelines
- Support other teams in detail design, systems architecture and systems integration work
- Support in the review and approval of supplier’s SOW, work instructions, and specs
- Contribute to the development of the aircraft maintenance manual
- Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field; Master’s degree a plus
- A minimum of three (3) years’ of experience in urban air mobility, aviation and/or automotive (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Experience with composite and metallic fabrication and assembly work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills
- Excellent planning, organizing, and coordinating skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities

You may also be able to contribute:
- LEAN/Six Sigma experience and qualifications
- Project management skills
- Proficient with model-based definition, drafting, and GD&T standards
- Experience with airframes and composite/metallic components preferred
- Experience with integrated product teams and/or systems of systems framework desired
- Preferred experience designing and developing flight-worthy products
- Experience in prototyping and aviation certification environments preferred
- Preferred experience with project management and development programs
