Job Description PLEASE READ MOST OF THIS IF CONSIDERING APPLYING We generally need some talented fabricators to be able to take on their own builds in our shop This would involve reading plans, preparing/setting up your own doors and windows for welding, detailing/grinding and minor prep for finish. THIS MEANS BEING ABLE TO MANAGE YOUR OWN PRODUCTIVITY and work in a tight crew. Processes include: tig welding, mig welding, grinding, steel prep, reading plans and executing cut lists if needed, a bonus is being able to operate CNC cutting equipment like band saws and mills. A close second in experience would be installing steel doors and windows which would include: basic on-site fabrication as needed: installing custom jambs, building out openings or preparing openings for systems installation of custom pivot doors, steel curtain walls, installing IG glass into frames general construction knowledge and experience when it comes to waterproofing, structural knowledge, etc. Our policy is be safe with tools and equipment, work hard/productive, communicate, problem solve, and ask questions when needed (but look at the plans first). If you do not have significant experience in these trades (see requirements below), but you have a good attitude and a real hunger to learn and grow, we may still have a place for you to start: cutting material, grinding welds, and most importantly, sanding steel and applying Patina for clear coat. REQUIREMENTS: • High School degree/Trade School degree • Must have own general tools for installation and a truck for job site transportation (this will justify a higher rate) • Must have experience and feel comfortable with steel fabrication, use of grinder, etc. • A minimum experience of 5 years of steel fabrication. Experience with Doors and Windows is bonus or any other high end architectural steelwork. • A minimum 5 years of experience with the use of a common hand, and power tools including but not limited to power drill, impact driver and levels • Experience with multiple types of fasteners, anchors and drill bits • Proven ability and experience accurately measuring within 1/16” with manual and laser measurers • Strong spoken and written communications skills • Punctual, reliable, and solid work ethic • A strong understanding of basic to advanced construction trades • Active driver’s license and insurable Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour COVID-19 considerations: masks required on job sites or in break room.
