The Boeing Company is looking for multiple Experienced Structural Analysis Engineers to join our team in Seal Beach, CA.  The Boeing Commercial Airplanes Customer Support Operations Center supports a 24/7 fast paced environment solving Urgent/AOG customer issues. Selected candidates possess a broad knowledge of Boeing Commercial Airplanes Primary, Secondary, and Systems Structure and will be part of the Structures Rapid Dispatch Team in the Operations Center.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.
  • Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product’s environment.
  • Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.
  • Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
  • Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.
  • Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.
  • Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.
  • Works under minimal direction.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics.
  • 5+ years of aircraft design and/or repair experience.
  • 1+ years of customer interface experience.

Typical Education/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification.
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

  • This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Shift:

  • This position requires flexibility in work hours, but generally the work shifts adhere to a 7 days on and 7 days off schedule. Typically work days start at 10am and end at 10pm or start at 10pm and end at 10am. The position is within the Boeing Operations Center, which supports Airline fleets with a 24/7/365 operation.
  • This position requires periodic work schedule changes across the various shifts to meet operational needs. Selected applicants must be willing to commit to working any work schedule required to balance staffing requirements on each shift.
