Experienced Space Systems Digital Engineer Architect

The Boeing Space & Launch team is seeking an Experienced Space Systems Digital Engineer Architect (Level 3) for development projects in El Segundo or Seal Beach, CA.

You will participate in all phases of the system development life cycle, including concept of operations (ConOps) development, requirements development, analysis and decomposition, software and hardware system design, algorithm design, risk management, integration, test and operations. The successful candidate will develop and utilize Digital Twins and create MBSE architectures for advanced space systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support system and sub-system level Digital Twin development and implementation
  • Create MBSE architectures and models
  • Support ConOps development, requirements definition, multi-segment interface definition, architecture integration, functional analysis, and system design activities
  • Support system level trade studies and briefings
  • Support system level integration and test planning and execution, including functional validation as well as formal requirements sell-off

This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) that has been successfully completed within the last 5 years. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Systems engineering experience involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis, and verification
  • Experience in customer requirements development, system requirements, and CONOPs development.
  • Experience with system architecture and model development in an MBSE tool using SysML.

Preferred (Preferred) Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering approaches, methods, and techniques
  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Familiarity with SQL/Access, MATLAB, C++, C#, Java

Typical Education/Experience: 

Bachelor’s and 5 or more years’ experience, Master’s with 3 or more years’ experience or PhD with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
