Opportunity Overview
The Electrical Wiring Harness Engineering at TuSimple is responsible for driving the design and sourcing activities for the creation of cables and harnesses of our Autonomous Trucks.

You will be responsible for implementing engineering best practices and documentation of all design activities.

Role Responsibilities
*
Design and development of automotive wiring harnesses with 2D AutoCAD
*
Translate system schematics into wiring diagrams and harnesses
*
Review the DFMEA/PFMEA with suppliers and provide input in supplier APQP and PPAP processes
*
Support and coordinate changes with the certification, safety, vehicle integration groups, and wiring engineers
*
Represent the Electrical group in packaging activities and meetings
*
Stay up to date with latest wiring/connector standards
*
Meet all MRD dates, delivering high quality harnesses in line with program timing
*
Visiting supplier plants to become familiar with manufacturing process
*
Travel as needed

Experience & Skills Required
*
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
*
5+ years Automotive or Aerospace related “wiring harness” experience at either OEM or Tier-1 supplier level
*
Knowledge of checking: Signal integrity, system diagrams, wiring diagrams, and harnesses and cables for accuracy
*
Experience with 2D AutoCAD software application, including complex wiring design
*
CAN bus experience, including debugging
*
Understanding and use of DFMEA/PFMEA
*
Experience with APQP and PPAP
*
Electrical circuit design and debugging skills
*
Use of standard electronic tools such as oscilloscopes, soldering irons, signal generators, etc.
