CLOUD SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT – LOS ANGELES, CA
The Select Groups’ utility client is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to join their team in Los Angeles, California. This will be a hands on architect role and this person should expect to jump in and support the existing systems immediately, to build their knowledge of existing systems, before helping to design a new system. This person will be supporting many upcoming initiatives to move existing systems and applications to the cloud.
CLOUD SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of experience in IT in business application design, software development, system integration, testing and build and deployment
- Experience designing and implementing/executing:
- Large scale Enterprise applications and data-centric platforms
- High volume mission critical data integration solutions
- Projects using AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other large cloud provider
- Proficient with Big Data and NoSQL platforms
- Proficient in Data Analysis, Profiling and ETL
- Experienced with Spark and performance tuning
- Experienced implementing CI/CD pipelines
- Experienced with Docker and Kubernetes
CLOUD SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:
- Hands on DevOps experience
- Experience with performance testing
- Utilities experience
CLOUD SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The primary functions of this role will be:
- Providing hands on support to existing systems
- Designing a future state cloud solution
- Helping to train others and upgrading the Team’s capabilities for future technologies
- Helping with the transition to the cloud
- Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications.
- Applies broad knowledge to various technical functions to identify system’s impacts.
- Assists in the identification of technical dependencies and estimation of technical work.
- Experience in architecting & building applications using various cloud technologies to build a highly scalable and distributed enterprise application
- Provide leadership and drive architecture and the design of Big Data Information Management & Analytics solutions
- Coordinates with team to performance test to ensure scalability and quality of the systems
- Shares 24×7 production support responsibilities, by making efficient use of offshore resources
- Coordinates technical tasks related to systems in a multi-tier, multi-system project with offshore counter parts. Ensures offshore status is reported back to onsite team in timely manner
- Ensures offshore tasks are completed on time with quality
- Participates in production support of the systems and applies strong technical competency to drive resolution for system’s issues and perform root cause analysis
