This position will enable the MBE (Model Based Engineering) acceleration across Enterprise (BDS, BCA and BGS) by supporting development of Model Based Safety Analysis (MBSA) solution applying industry best practices like ARP4761, ARP4754, and MIL-STD-882.

This position will also require working with organizations within/across the business units and contribute to the development of novel engineering methods, processes, training and tools consistent with Boeing’s Safety Management System (SMS).

The candidate should have experienced in the Systems Engineering activities through the life cycle (such as requirements development, system design, verification planning and testing, etc.).

The individual will need to be a self-starter, comfortable with identifying and solving problems, able to understand the big design picture (larger than just MBSA), and have good communication skills.

The selected candidate will be a core member of a fast paced, productive, close-knit and geographically diverse safety team and work both independently and as part of team.Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to resolve cross-functional technical issues are also required.

Position Responsibilities:Collaborate with systems, design and project engineers to develop, benchmark and implement and integrated MBSA tool suite consisting of Design Safety Analysis solution kitsInvestigating existing safety analysis tools to digitally connect, store, and integrate critical safety deliverables into MBSA tool suiteLead Safety Functional discussions with programs across the enterprise to help identify, design, and build highly complex and important integration with the Business ArchitectureProgram Outreach and Communication with other MBE users, Solution/System Architecture Leads, and Division Systems Engineering leadersIdentification and prioritization of program needs to improve MBSA tool suiteManage support of program issues with MBSA tools and methods upon deploymentMBSA Startup for new and existing ProgramsEnsuring SMS goals are well understood in the development of model based methodsContribute to develop technical strategiesParticipate and potentially lead Agile scrum teams This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry4+ years of experience in Systems Safety Engineering in the Aerospace and/or Automotive industry Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with requirements management/definition, safety/reliability analysis, architectural definitions, system integrationExperience with aircraft system safety analysis guidelines such as Mil-STD-882E, ARP4761, ARP4754Experience with aerospace systems engineering together with the ability to visualize how information technology opportunities might be used to further the goals of the organizationStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience working effectively with diverse engineering teamsIntrinsic aptitude for taking initiativeExperience leading cross functional teams and complex projectsExperience with model based systems engineering (MBSE)Experience with tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or Enterprise Architect and knowledge of SysML and UAFExperience in Modeling and SimulationExperience with 3DX, Simulink, DOORS, MODELICA and similarExperience with different software languages and ability to write scriptsExperience working with agile methodologies Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
