Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) teamis seeking a Senior Structure and Payload Design Engineer (Level 5) located in El Segundo, CA.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing high precision composite space structures and component designs.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position is not a union represented position Position Responsibilities:Provides oversight and direction to cross functional teams to interpret requirements, define interfaces and develop innovative structure designs using thorough design layouts to produce engineering definition documentsLeads development, maintenance,modification ofspace structure engineering documentation using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools (PTC Creo, CreoView, Creo-Simulate), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD& T ASME Y14.5M) standards and/or other design methodsLeads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specificationsManages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goalsDevelops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts in order to grow the business.

Tasks include: work statement estimates (e.G., cost, schedule, task breakdown) and marketing supportExperience with composite structure design and/or fabrication.Works under consultative direction.

Work Authorization: This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

An interim and/or final U.S.

Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.10+ years of experience in leading a design and analysis team for ultra-high modulus composites structures.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with multi-disciplined development in any of the following areas: Space structural and mechanical design and engineering; System integration and integrated system test; Systems Engineering Mechanical systems Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
