Our team gives the opportunity to experience many facets of the Boeing Company in one place!Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) Structures Stress Team, located in sunny Southern California, is seeking a Mid-Career Structural Analysis Engineer with knowledge of stress analysis methods, engineering principles and coordination skills.

Stress analyst will consider static strength and fatigue life of primary and secondary structure across the fleet of Boeing airplane models, including 787!This role may require some travel to support our customers and provide learning experiences to enhance your career.

This role also offers a flexible work from home (telecommuting) schedule requiring at least two days in the office per week.

Telecommuting is subject to change if role requires additional on-site coordination.

Position Responsibilities:Performing detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools.

This analysis supports responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.Providing guidance on structural design and configuration development.Create trade studies to optimize structure and meet program requirements.Develop, deploy, and support in-house and commercial application software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.Work with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses in order to verify structural integrity with some/minimal instruction.Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements.Participate in theresolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer (internal and external).

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R.

§ 120.15 is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.3+ Experience performing aircraft stress analysis and Finite Element Analysis1+ Experience in Fatigue analysis Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)Experience in metallic and/or composite static analysisExperience coordinating with internal customers, adjacent teams and/or stakeholdersExperience with testing (vibe, strain gauge, proof pressure, etc.)Experience with NASTRAN/PATRAN, HYPERMESH, ABAQUS, or any other stress analysis suite Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
