The Southern California Boeing Design Center in Long Beach, California is seeking Associate Structural Design Engineer to work closely with other functional teams and Boeing sites; partnering with our airlines customers, suppliers, and the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to provide structures engineering design solutions and mitigate safety issues for Boeing airplane fleets.

This role is situated in Long Beach, California.

Position Responsibilities: Develops and documents moderately complex primary structure design via drawings, data sets, reports, specifications and supporting data.

Designs airframe fuselage and wing structural components utilizing CATIA/ENOVIA software toolsets based on defined requirements.

Tests and validates designs to meet operational and functional requirements.

Monitors suppliers’ performance to ensure integration and compliance with requirements.

Resolves moderately complex problems with product integration and production anomalies.

Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs.

Participates with other members on project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R.

§ 120.15 is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelors Degree or higher in an engineering or science related field 2 years of experience working in an Engineering environment Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering 2 or more years of experience working with Structures Design or Stress Analysis Related Work Statements.

Experience in airplane structural design principles and in coordinating across multiple disciplines to develop design (e.G., Materials, Structures, Aerodynamics) to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Strong analytical, written, verbal communications and presentation skills.

Boeing 7-Series or Transport Aircraft Structures Design experience is a plus Typical Education/ Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
