Associate Electrical Engineer

Position Overview:

The Boeing Space Electronics division is seeking an Electrical Design and Analysis Engineer (Level 2) in our Flying Probe Test Department to work in the El Segundo, CA location. Boeing’s Space and Launch Division manages the company’s major commercial and government satellite and ground programs for communications, national defense and other missions.

 The candidate will be responsible for maintaining detailed requirements and specifications for various electronic products. Developing detailed designs of limited scope. Conducting various methods of testing and analysis to support design. Gathers data for technical performance measures and performs basic analysis. Provides basic engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product. Conducts trade studies and literature research to support future product designs. Works under general supervision.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of state-of-the art Digital Bus and Power Electronics for space-based applications

  • Duties will include Flying Probe tester programming, design, requirements and interface definition, modeling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification

  • Technical support for Flying Probe tester programming (Xmatic) and testing software (Integrator) for engineering models and production test circuit card assemblies of space-qualified electronics

  • Supports a production testing environment on various shifts

Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship

 A final U.S. secret clearance Post tart is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • Experience with Digital Bus, RF and Power Electronics Hardware for space applications

  • 2 or more years of experience with Flying Probe Tester programming using Xmatic software

  • 2 or more years of experience with Flying Probe Tester Integrator software

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree

  • 2 or more years of technical troubleshooting assistance in Flying Probe Tester equipment and circuit card assembly failures during test

  • Experience with circuit design for Space Applications

  • Bachelors with 3 or more years of experience, Masters with 2 or more years of experience or PhD with 1 or more years of experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Electrical Engineering.

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
