This family is responsible for coordinating and managing the general accounting and financial reporting functions of the company. The family members oversee a broad range of corporate accounting functions. They interact with all levels of management, ensure timely and accurate external and internal reporting and assist with multiple financial projects and initiatives. Oversee the monthly consolidation process including review of journals prepared as part of the close, system checks and other closing related procedures. Assist in the preparation of quarterly external filings to the SEC (10-Q and 10-K). Manage monthly debt reporting requirements including approval of all monthly journals, account reconciliations and related analysis. Provide support to Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations and Corporate Communication functions. Provide support to internal and external auditors. Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports to the CFO. Prepare monthly reports to senior management of operating results and balance sheet accounts. Manage quarterly statutory financial statements. Perform special projects as needed. SCOPE: Responsible for coordinating and managing the general accounting and financial reporting functions concerning, primarily, the accuracy and maintenance the general ledger accounts, and the resultant financial statements. Provides financial reports covering revenue, earnings, profits, and other financial results. Develops and directs the operation of additional accounting systems and procedures to reduce costs and obtain improved information. May participate in the most complex general accounting projects. Responsible for the direct supervision of the general accounting staff. Contact for group/business unit administration on the company’s application of accounting standards and provides advice and direction on GAAP accounting.  

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: 

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, motivate and direct staff. Requires creation of a course of action in that solving the problem may require conducting research, conceiving new/innovative ideas or solutions, predicting what will happen, and/or developing new ideas and/or theories and/or yet unthought of solutions to the problem. Communicates, writes, advises, counsels, and/or guides people on extremely complex or controversial matters. Handles difficult negotiations requiring a well-developed sense of strategy, timing, debating skills, and persuasion. Success is highly dependent upon the level and proficiency of the communication/writing skills. Involves comprehensive knowledge of GAAP accounting and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor’s degree (in accounting/finance or a related discipline) or equivalent and 8 years experience.
