As a Structural Designer, you will work in our office and remotely with various engineering teams of Architects and Engineers to design technical solutions to meet our clients business needs. The successful candidate will work with lead licensed structural engineers and other experienced designers to create structural design solutions for our engineering teams and for our clients manufacturing, distribution, industrial and commercial facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop structural design solutions for our clients and engineering teams.
- Work to understand the scope and requirements of each assignment to assure deliverable s exceed expectations.
- Drive team performance by efficient, excellent personal work and by candid, constructive feedback to the team.
- Be a great steward of Design Group and client assets.
- Strive for continued learning and growth.
- Field work including structural as-builds, rebuilds, retrofits, construction technical support and interaction with Clients personnel.
- Assist with the training and mentoring of junior level designers.
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience as a Structural Designer.
- Experience working in a production engineering/design environment
- Proficiency with Revit
- Experience taking design concepts for foundations and structures and providing detailed designs.
- Experience in heavy industrial environments.
- Experience with repair/remediation projects, not just new installations.
- Experience using building codes.
- Must be familiar with constructability assessments.
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Must be able to work independently and remotely but be a key contributor to team projects.
- Comfortable client interface.
- Ability to measure and gather fit/function data from visiting a site.
- Ability to work in an on-site, high demand environment if required.
- Ability to complete field work, including climbing stairs, ladders, and equipment/structures of varying heights.
Education:
- BS Degree from an ABET accredited university in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering preferred
