What we’re looking for:
We are looking for a mechanical designer who has the training and/or the ability to create designs, technical drawings, and bills of material for display cases and line ups. The ideal candidate will also partner with engineers within the engineering and operations manufacturing team to provide efficient solutions and support.
What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
- Work with Design Manager and customer service personnel to assist with sheet metal design
- Manipulate existing SolidEdge and SolidWorks models into new configurations
- Design parts and assemblies, various materials around defined manufacturing capability
- Including, though not limited to sheet metal, wood, weldments, piping/mechanical/electrical locations, understanding hardware, considering fitment of refrigeration components for case construction
- Work with other departments to provide technical support
- Assist co-workers where needed
- Able to prioritize and multitask when faced with requests, demands and deadlines
- Able to respond to heavy workload when necessary
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
What are the basic qualifications?
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with seven (7) years mechanical design experience OR Associates Degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and other technical drawings.
- Knowledge of case construction
