KITCHEN & BATH DESIGNER/SALES
Kitchen Studio Los Angeles is the first showroom in the United States devoted exclusively to Downsview Kitchens of Toronto, Canada, providing custom kitchen and bath furniture since 1967.
We are seeking an experienced,motivated professional for the position of Kitchen and Bath Designer. This in-showroom position is a great opportunity to build a rewarding career within an established company by taking each project from the first sales consultation to completion, including Design Gallery tours, meeting with customers to review space planning, responsible for site measuring and custom designing the layout using the trade software provided by us. At Kitchen Studio LA, our Robertson Blvd. showroom is open Monday through Friday 9-5 and Saturday mornings by appointment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in kitchen and bath design
- Providing kitchen and bath cabinetry design services and sales consultation for homeowners, interior designers, architects and contractors.
- Manage the full cycle ordering process thru installation for all kitchen, bath, closet and other cabinetry projects
- Welcome potential clients to the store, arrange for kitchen and/or bath site measures, making style and materials recommendations and review design concepts.
PERSONAL DUTIES
. Greet and engage customers in the showroom, listen, ask questions and discuss project needs to make thoughtful recommendations and inspire them to select the appropriate products.
. Contacting potential customers inside & outside the showroom to review their project requirements and guide them through the design, purchasing and installation process.
· Provide thoughtful, professional custom design services for each project.
· Draw cabinetry plans, elevations and 3D concepts according to the customer’s needs.
· Prepare budgetary estimates for cabinets, appliances, decorative hardware and countertops.
. Prepare Design Agreements and purchase Contracts
. Perform proper computer functions/paperwork to ensure a high level of communication and customer satisfaction
. Meet with customers in our showroom and on the job site with the goal of ultimately selling custom cabinetry, design services and related products.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the K&B design and / or interior design fields.
. Sales skills and project management experience required.
· Must be proficient with design software …. AutoCad, SketchUp or equivalent kitchen design program.
· Strong space-planning skills to create the overall aesthetic, stressing functionality of your kitchen and bath concepts.
· Ability to coordinate color palette, decorative materials, appliances and plumbing fixtures to achieve design goals. Understanding the basics of lighting design would be a plus.
· Excited about innovative design influences and incorporating custom design elements into your work.
· Well-organized, detail & deadline-oriented.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills…. Microsoft Word and Excel are extensively.
· Knowledgeable and passionate about providing exceptional customer service.
· Willingness to adhere to all company policies, procedures and standards.
· Ability to build and maintain lasting team, customer and business relationships.
· Certified Interior Designer (CID), Certified Kitchen or Bath Designer through NKBA (CKD, CBD) or ASID affiliation a plus.
. Basic knowledge of construction and the ability to read and scale blueprints and floor plans
. Excellent decision making ability and problem solving skills

Pay: $25.00 per hour
