PAPA’S HERB™ is looking for a Graphics Designer!

Who you are:

We are seeking an experienced Graphic Designer to complement our dynamic, in-house design team. To be successful in this position, you will be a self-starter, capable of delivering creative, impactful design solutions with an eye for detail. You actively enjoy learning about trends in industry and design and be able to handle a fast-paced business environment. You will soon discover that we are so much more than cannabis. You will be involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from print to digital to video, and with brand concepts beyond Papa’s Herb.

Skills

  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • A strong sense of visual composition; design and typography
  • A high functioning command of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Ability to design across a multitude of applications (print, branding, packaging, spatial, digital, video)
  • Ability to design governed by brand standards guidelines to ensure brand compliance
  • Proven ability to communicate concepts and ideas to team members and managers through written, verbal and visual means
  • An understanding of marketing, print production, website design, corporate identity, packaging, advertisements and multimedia design
  • Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects
  • Working knowledge in HTML, CSS and PHP
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism
  • A self-starter with an ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Thrives on being organized with methods to prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience in photography and video editing an asset

Responsibilities

  • Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials
  • Designing finished artwork to submit for approval and preparing print ready files
  • Design projects to include various brands and applications: menus, ads, billboards, social media graphics, web graphics and animations
  • Idea generation and creative input to support media and marketing campaigns
  • Photo retouching and clipping
  • General design support
  • Print production: prepare and manage digital output and product of critical marketing projects (brochures, posters, data sheets, sales aids, print ads, and product logos)
  • Scheduling tasks and projects that may have competing deadlines
  • Co-ordinate and follow up to complete projects with internal teams and suppliers
  • Contribute to team efforts as required
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Graphic Design is part of the Marketing team with close collaboration daily

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma from an accredited university or college in Graphic Communications, Graphic Design, Illustration, Image Arts, Photography, Art, Marketing or related discipline.
  • 2-3 years experience agency or client side, preferably with some cannabis related experience
