Job Purpose: The Graphic/Textile Colorist Associate Designer will be responsible for creating original two-dimensional designs, drawings, and typography for apparel and accessories.
Deliverables: Amend and re-color existing prints/artwork and color ways Translate trend and vintage inspirations into original designs, repeats, and color ways Research vintage resources, competitor websites, runway shows, style websites, and fashion magazines for trend inspirations Utilize traditional hand-sketching and painting techniques in conjunction with Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Kaledo to execute graphic and textile designs Create tech packs with detailed specifications that include printout of designs, disc of artwork and repeats, size of repeats, material selection, special treatments, print techniques, color swatches, art placement or border selection, color tabs, etc.
Organize and maintain print books in the print library Maintain design and print information in an organized electronic catalogue for easy access and reference Assemble and submit to the Legal Department design paperwork, which includes the origin of design inspiration for copyright purposes Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Graphic or Textile Design Must have 1 2+ years of Apparel/Accessories Graphic and Textile Print experience Must be proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator Knowledge of NedGraphics or other textile software programs a plus Must be able to build relationships through effective communication with cross-functional teams Must be able to adapt to constant change and multi-task in a fast-paced environment Must be a team player, open to taking direction, and self-motivatedWhat we Expect Customer Obsession; you know who your customer is and working in service to them is working in service to our end consumer.
