WHO WE NEED:
Our Director of Creative Technology represents the technical capabilities of the Santa Monica studio to potential clients and internal teams. You are a business development rockstar with a background in tech, who can also lead, develop, and mentor our amazing tech team and find them projects to excite their passion and curiosity. In collaboration with the Chief Experience Officer (CXO), Chief Operations Officer (COO), and Vice President of Business Development, you’ll make business decisions across the technology process, from strategy development to concept ideation, development and QA, through deployment and maintenance. You will ensure quality proposals and delivery, project profitability, and client satisfaction. You will take on the business leadership for all tech aspects on projects.
You are a pioneer of innovation who can speak to a variety of technical solutions within the realm of user experience. You are a champion of integrating emerging technology with human-centered design. You contribute to an environment where pioneering is encouraged and ingenuity is celebrated. You inspire the company and its clients toward creative business solutions, and help the delivery team turn those solutions into repeatable service offerings. In addition to growing existing strategic accounts, you are essential to winning new business and steering our roster in our desired direction.

Your quest, should you choose to accept it:
- Work with the Business Development team to develop new business by establishing relationships with new, high-potential clients such as Fortune 500, top international brands, and well-funded start ups
- Identify global clients that are a good fit with our core competencies; help develop a network of the key players in the industry; proactively identify prospects and create new opportunities for business pitches
- Interface with highly knowledgeable technology staff and CTOs on the client side; present offers, solutions and architectures
- Lead revenue generation and client satisfaction for technology / engineering projects or components in the US division
- Partner with key stakeholders to align business and technical strategies, and roadmaps to drive client experience/success
- Optimize existing client relationships by successfully identifying and managing new revenue sources and opportunities
- Recommend and build software products and prototypes from ideation to client delivery
- Explore, develop, and stay abreast of emerging technologies, recommending use and implementation when applicable
- Provide creative and technology expertise to ensure maximum quality of delivered work and client satisfaction
- Collaborate with Chief Experience Officer and VP of Business Development to determine priorities and coordinate staffing on projects
- Partner with the Project / Product Manager to thoroughly scope projects and their deliverables
- Present company / technology capabilities with full understanding to non-technical team members and clients
- Be a frequent and high-profile speaker and representative of the company at industry events and briefings with both internal and external stakeholders
- Build lasting client and partner relationships
- Partner with key stakeholders about technologies, frameworks, environments and tools to deliver solutions
- Determine potential technology/feasibility risks in tandem with project team
- Ensure all development and/or technology practices adhere to company business and security requirements
- Mentor members of the software development team and ensure expert knowledge as well as ongoing training and education is taking place
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field is required; MBA is highly preferred
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in software development, demonstrating a broad range of product knowledge and technical solutions
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development or client-facing role
- Demonstrated experience in an agency focusing on user experience and innovation, or a similar field.
- Ability to judge creative concepts and clearly communicate tech focused creative direction to others while inspiring the team to deliver great products
- Proven leadership ability and inspiration nature
- Creativity, maturity, decisiveness, flexibility and a high degree of motivation
- Strong communication skills with capability to facilitate deep technical conversations, lead a technical team within the discipline of business, application, data, and technical architecture
- 3+ years of experience with medium- to large-scale Cloud-based projects required
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure platform related solutions preferred, (AWS a plus)
- Very good understanding of Web Technologies and Fullstack Development
- Good understanding of data analytics and technologies (and possess the ability to speak to these topics)
- Good understanding of certification processes, security requirements and standards in U.S.
- Ability to serve as a collaborative partner with business unit executives and influence decisions across functions
- History of strong leadership focused on a collaborative, results-oriented culture
- Must understand enterprise architecture, modern solution approaches and be able to lead an architecture team capable of option analysis and future state vision
- Understanding of business controls and necessary automation to meet regulatory and controls commitments
