We are looking for a Creative Director with a strong Copywriting background and experience building innovative brand campaigns at the intersection of advertising and entertainment, who has the drive to deliver work that helps Observatory and its innovative clients live up to our mission. You must have a strong interest in culture and a book that shows you can create campaigns that include work beyond the traditional ad.Job DescriptionA Creative Director at Observatory is a player/coach role; you must be comfortable being hands on. You will oversee project teams as well as operate autonomously, owning client relationships and serving as the point person on presentations and new business pitches. The junior creative team members will depend on you for guidance, coaching, and mentorship. The Chief Creative Officer will depend on you to produce industry-leading work for the agency.You’re a team leader whose role is to champion the work, shape campaigns, concept entertainment platforms and manage the business needs of work in a way that will create the greatest impact. You will need to:Meet and exceed the CCOs expectations for creative excellence by pushing for great work from the start of every project. Champion craft and be responsible for raising the bar of everything you touch.Remain current with entertainment and pop culture; bring this knowledge to your projects and require it of your teams as well.Lead your team in developing creative presentations, coordinating pitches, being a strong creative representative in front of clients, handling shoots, etc.Cultivate a culture of high-volume creativity. Push yourself and junior teams to come up with lots and lots of ideas, knowing some of them might miss the mark.Drive creative direction and vision for multiple projects; bring clarity and direction to each project you oversee or participate in.Collaborate with brand teams to build project plans, timings, resources where related to creative deliverables.Read every brief before your team gets it: work with strategy to ensure the brief will lead to great work.Present with confidence and experience; be able to read a room and adapt your presentation style accordingly to different clients.Defend the work and your decisions; take creative feedback from multiple sources and sort out how to address it, directly or indirectly, for the benefit of the work.
