Auto CAD Designer (Soler System)

Job Description American Array Solar is seeking a Solar Designer to join our team The best-fit hire will have AutoCAD experience and have at least one year of solar experience. This role entails engineering, designing, and drafting. Responsibilities Use AutoCAD to produce pre solar layouts and code compliant plan sets Maintain revisions as required per project needs Recognize and identify different types of roof construction and electrical main service panel boards Ability to provide detailed notes of completed PV jobs in CRM database Must demonstrate ethics and professionalism at all times Maintain constant communication with Designers and Management Design electrical PV systems including sizing the circuit conductors, breakers, and if panel upgrades are required Working knowledge of current electrical code Confirm roof capability for PV solar system (rafter span check) Performs other duties as assigned Requirements 1-2 years’ experience in AutoCAD Knowledge of drafting standards and symbols 1-2 years higher volume Solar PV design experience Proficient in solar, NEC and applicable codes NABCEP Certification preferred, not required Quickbase or Salesforce experience is preferred Coordinate with Site Surveyors, Electrical and Structural Engineers, PV designers, Contractors, Project Management, and Sales teams to complete PV designs in a timely manner Must be dedicated and can adapt and work in a fast pace environment Must be able to prioritize and multitask on multiple projects Must be able to work in a team environment as a team member Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals Ability to work under minimal supervision & resolve issues independently based on project/company standards. Strong observation skills, and ability to think critically, analytically and strategically to solve problems PV installation experience is a plus LG Chem certification or Tesla is a plus.
