The position can be performed remotely and/or onsite at the Aliso Viejo, CA national office.

Position Purpose: The Instructional Designer provides expertise in the planning, development and review of technology-based learning products.

Working closely with the eLearning, Practice Excellence, IT, Creative, and Marketing staff, this position leverages training resources on AACN’s technology platforms to ensure innovative, cost effective eLearning products and services.Main Accountabilities:Translates customer needs, environmental factors and technological opportunities to determine effective learning interventions that support the association’s education and learning strategy.Creates learning interventions based on sound instructional strategies.Leads development and implementation for assigned eLearning projects.Ensures operationally effective administrative systems.Other duties as assigned.Skills Required: The individual must have and be able to consistently apply the following skills at the levels indicated to produce the results required.Advanced knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the technical application of learning principles to web-based training design.Skilled at designing blended learning programs that provide a comprehensive learning experience.Skilled in instructional design, content analysis, needs analysis, simulation design and program evaluation.Knowledge of user experience and web usability principles, including knowledge of ADA/accessibility and copyright/fair use guidelines for instructional/educational material.Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Possesses the technical knowledge and demonstrable ability to effectively use industry-standard eLearning course authoring tools, such as Storyline, Rise, Captivate, Audacity, Camtasia, and others, to create, edit and modify online learning products.Advanced knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), IMS manifests, SCORM, xAPI, HTML5, JavaScript and their role in effective delivery of educational content.Education and/or Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Educational or Instructional Technology or related field preferred.Minimum 7 years designing eLearning products, with experience designing informal/social learning tools and strategies.Minimum 3 years collaborating with learning development teams; experience collaborating with or leading interdisciplinary teams.Experience managing external vendors.Demonstrable experience using Storyline 360 and/or Captivate in the creation of online learning products delivered through a learning management system.Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise) experience strongly preferred.Experience with Docebo and/or SCORM Cloud LMSs is a plus.Experience in audio/video production, graphics/animation design (including Adobe Creative Suite experience), and podcast and/or webinar development is a plus.Physical Requirements:AACN requires Team Members performing work in-person to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing.
