Allume Energy is an Australian-based company making solar accessible and affordable for multi-family buildings. We have developed a proprietary technology called the SolShare, that optimally shares energy from a single solar system to multiple units. This behind-the-meter technology needs no change to the standard metering infrastructure and the utility”s billing system, making it a scalable solution to democratize access to solar energy globally.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role focuses on helping Allume maintain the quality of installations, product reliability, and technical support responsiveness.
This person will be Allume’s point of contact with local utilities, solar providers, and additional technical partners regarding technical and installation-related queries. They will work alongside the Partnerships and Operations Manager and report to the CEO.
The role will require a wide range of technical competencies across electrical systems, PV system design within the National Electrical Code, and technical support processes. Additionally, candidates must have strong communication skills to liaise directly with partners with technical and non-technical backgrounds.
Candidates should be excited by the opportunity to work in a small, fast-growing business with a flat organizational structure. This full-time role would present the opportunity to build and lead a team of technical support resources as Allume as our number of deployments continues to grow.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serving as a key technical support contact with utilities, solar providers, and potential partners
• Review technical documentation with a perspective for the SolShare application. These include SLDs, site photos, solar design plans, interconnection agreements, and more.
• Supporting the Partnerships and Operations Manager in client calls on an as-needed basis
• Performing site visits and in-person installation support
• Ensuring SolShare technical compliance in a variety of utility territories
• Providing recommendations on technical configurations that can lead to successful installations and ongoing performance
REQUIREMENTS
• PV design experience
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code with reference to commercial and residential PV installations
• Competency with electrical systems
• Experience communicating with customers
• Initiative to work autonomously and independently solve problems
• Resilience and adaptability to thrive in a fast-moving and every changing startup environment
• Passion for driving the adoption of renewable energy to create social and environmental change
• Based or willing to relocate to the Greater LA Area
