Boeing is seeking a Systems Engineering Support Analyst (Level 3, Level 4, or Level 5) to join the Experimental Systems team in Seal Beach, CA. The candidate should have knowledge of planning, process and analysis techniques associated with project planning, metrics and systems engineering trade studies. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of system processes and integration for both internal and external project plans.

ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains, and is an extremely fast-paced, responsive development environment specializing in delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The ESG portfolio consists of a range of platforms and technologies including the X-37B, the world’s first fully autonomous reusable spaceplane, which recently launched on its sixth and most ambitious flight yet.

As a member of our GN&C team, you will join a highly experienced and mission-focused team of engineers with specialties including hypersonic re-entry, spacecraft and aircraft GN&C, as well as new concepts in mission planning, precision maneuver and spacecraft autonomy. We work closely with Business Development teams and our customers. We rapidly prototype new concepts then deploy and iterate our designs and systems. Working on the GNC team you will typically be engaged across multiple projects and involved in simulation development, system analysis, GN&C requirements and software development, integration, operational concept development, and flight test in both atmospheric and space environments. Our development timelines are aggressive and you will be asked to develop solutions to previously unsolved problems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, metrics, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.

  • Works with customers to develop and document project plans.

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system architecture, hardware, software and interface specifications.

  • Monitors supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use.

  • Supports systems/specialty engineers in defining requirements, developing trade studies, performing analyses, and controlling associated data and information.

  • Gathers, tracks and analyzes reliability, maintainability and health monitoring data.

  • Selects appropriate data to conduct failure analysis and corrective action planning.

  • Evaluates and recommends methods, processes, procedures and tools for assessing maintainability characteristics of design.

  • Coordinates the development of certification and aviation regulatory proposals and plans and verifies compliance to requirements.

  • Develops and implements certification processes, tools and procedures.

  • Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Aerospace industry experience

  • Experience supporting project management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Level 5: 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

  • Experience in systems engineering

  • Bachelor’ Degree or higher

  • Active Top Secret/SCI with a Tier5/SSBI

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 9 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Lead (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience, 13 years’ related work experience, etc.)

Senior (Level 5)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience, 18 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range (Experienced, Level 3): $98,600 – $133,400

Summary pay range (Lead, Level 4): $121,550 – $164,450

Summary pay range (Senior, Level 5): $145,350 – $196,650
