The SVP, Application Development & Support is responsible for leading the launch, maintenance, and enhancements of CIVIC’s various technology products. The SVP will be working closely with Senior Management teams from various departments including Sales, Marketing, Operations, Treasury, Accounting, Compliance, Lending and Human Resources with the objective of aligning technology applications and infrastructure with each business unit’s strategic goals and tactical objectives. This SVP will be responsible for all software development and engineering for all Civic core Loan origination systems including Self-serve Portals for loan origination, processing, underwriting, Closing and Post-Closing functions. Civic utilizes Azure PaaS for most core systems utilizing an enterprise web service architecture. You will manage and align multiple engineering teams and disciplines (such as Web, API, Data, QA, and SDET) to achieve engineering and product goals.

What you’ll do:

Act as primary advocate between the business and IT to prioritize, acquire, develop and implement business technology solutions.
Manage the day-to-day support of 3rd party and internally developed applications, serving as the primary liaison between business units and developers or 3rd party vendors.
Responsible for the application Change Management framework in publicly traded, FDIC regulated environment
Develop the application architecture utilizing a Secure Software Development Framework (like NIST SSD or similar) aimed at guaranteeing secure applications.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Finance teams to align product and technical roadmaps and financial goals.
Serve as IT Liaison for project management and planning activities between departments.
Review and analyze existing business unit’s work processes. Identify and document areas of improvement for streamlined processes where technology could have an impact as a solution.
Support strategic planning for IT systems and Application Development. Examine the competition, the market, the vendors and evaluate current options. Present a synthesized vision and a phased plan that is aligned with company strategic objectives. Update plan as market conditions, company strategy, technology and other factors continue to change.
Prioritize all projects submitted by the divisions. Evaluate short-term requests against long-term plan.
Provide high-level functionality requirements, goals and success factors for each new project. Review and approve detailed functional requirements.
Proven leadership skills managing the IT Application Development teams.
Collaborate with senior developers to design software architectures, deploy frameworks, and leverage cutting-edge big data technologies and services
Develop and deploy engineering best practices, guidelines, procedures, and documentation
Involved with interviewing and hiring decisions.
Prepare and deliver employee performance evaluations, goal planning, and counseling.
Manage, support, coach and train staff.

What you’ll need:

BA/BS degree in Business Management, Computer Science or related field; or a combination of education and experience
10+ years management experience within the IT department for a lending institution or a core financial data processing provider, or similar experience
10+ years of experience with software development and software development life cycle, preferably in a regulated entity
7+ years of experience managing full-cycle software development teams in a PaaS cloud environment required.
7+ years of experience with software project management and program management
5+ years of experience in using Azure DevOps (ADO)
5+ years of experience with ETL, databases, data warehousing, and data engineering
5+ years of experience with web applications and service-oriented architecture
Experience with SQL, data business review
Deep understanding of the latest landscape in lending products
Experience with large IT system implementations
Extensive experience with systems, installation, rollout and training
Strategic planning, operating and capital budget knowledge and experience required
Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques
Knowledge of current trends and developments in Information Technology
Strong written and verbal communications skills with Technical/Non-Technical audiences
Experience supporting and developing a wide variety of business applications
Process Improvement experience
Systems planning
Strong project management and organizational skills
Review and be knowledgeable of departmental and human resource’s policies & procedures
