Supervisor Department Support Staff

Responsibilities: Under the regular supervision of the Director in the Department of Orthopedics, the Supervisor, Department of Orthopedics Support Staff works to support the Director and Chief and support operations of the Department.

The Supervisor provides supervision and oversight of the clinical administrative assistants, and other Department of Orthopedic support staff and ensures high quality and confidential support services are being provided for the Department.

This Supervisor is also responsible for hiring and managing the staff performance reporting to them.

Works closely with the Department of Orthopedics management team and other Departments to assure efficient and high quality support and operations.

Oversee payroll and PTO management, complete RL6 investigations, handle complex scheduling issues and assist with overall day-to-day department operational activities.Acts as a resource for patients, providers, staff and other departments.

Provides information about Bassett policies and procedures.

Assists managers and providers in getting resources they need.Actively manages support staff of the Department of Surgery with feedback from the managers and Senior Director.Works closely with the managers and the Senior Director for the Department of Surgery to discuss problems and develop solutions to issues related to the clinical and administrative operations of the department.Helps assure the financial viability of the Department of Surgery.Manage information systems for the Department.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 5 years secretarial/reception experience with one year being in a health care facility; one year of this work should be as a Team Leader or Supervisor.Business School graduate or Associate Degree in Secretarial Science or similar preparation is preferredBachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare related field would waive 4 years of secretarial/reception experience mentioned above.

Master’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration would waive secretarial/reception experience.
