The Sr Directorof Merchandise Operations & Systems will be responsible for the direction, strategic planning and management of systems support & training, along with process improvement related to inventory management operations. This leader will lead or assist in projects to drive better efficiency and accuracy across the entire Inventory Management team, including other departments in the supply chain. Working closely with the VP of Inventory Management, the Sr Director will be responsible for creating both short and long term road maps partnering with the IT team. This individual will partner with the HR team to create documentation, and information regarding all inventory management systems.
Responsibilities:
Lead teams directly and through influence across multiple, complex business scenarios, leverage both his or her direct team along with cross functional partners related to systems support and merchandise operations.Drive creation of consistent best practices through regular training sessions for both the merchandise planning and demand forecasting teams as it relates to systems.Take the lead on potential systems improvements and adoption of new platforms, by communicating the benefits and costs to the senior leadership, and successful get buy-in.Lead evaluation, re-design, implementation, and continuous improvement of critical operating practices and procedures in accordance with Inventory Management strategic goals and objectives.Assess staffing levels and employ as necessary to meet the highest customer service standards while managing costs to budget.Seek to gain thorough understanding of systems, inventory management best practices, and strategic team building processes to ensure the teams are equipped to be held accountable for department goals and KPIs.Lead and manage a highly productive, motivated and driven team through strong communication, empowerment, reward and coaching techniques. Assess staffing levels and employ as necessary action plans to meet the highest customer service standards while managing the budget. Maintain close working relationships cross functional areas, including the merchant team, merchandise planning, demand forecasting, IT, DC & Transportation, and store operations.Direct and lead all systems training and development programs for inventory management, corporate and ensure that proper training is designed, implemented, and monitored.Implement, improve, and measure efficiencies of planning, process, scope, control, issue management and project execution of the merchandise systems for all of inventory management.Develops tools and implements all new product introductions and system wide changes.
Requirements:
