Overview
Intuit’s Small Business and Self-Employed Group (SBSEG) is committed to creating tools and services that dramatically increase a SMB’s ability to manage their cash flow. The Risk Operations team supports SBSEG by protecting Intuit and our Small Business Customers from financial losses resulting from fraud or credit risk. The team operates in a dynamic environment and uses extensive research, analysis, and customer empathy to drive decisions that have a significant impact on both our customers and on Intuit.
The ideal candidate will have a background in fin tech or online banking and will demonstrate an exceptional balance of the following critical competencies: continuous improvement in an operational environment, technical expertise (e.g. business process flows, writing business requirements) and developing high performing teams.
What you’ll bring
- Must have 5+ years of experience leading teams in a large scale Operations type organization.
- Your communication and supporting documentation are crisp, articulate, and compelling.
- You have a talent for using data and the customer experience to ground your partners in what’s important and develop compelling business cases.
- You are a champion and an advocate for what matters most. You love solving multidimensional problems so that the systems and processes your teams build are durable and can be used by multiple product lines and teams.

- An understanding of common business practices as well as payment transaction processing.

- Exceptional emotional intelligence including strong self-awareness and as well as the ability to empathetically provide constructive feedback.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and influence to drive change, to expertly lead cross functional projects, and to guide the organization through change.
- Track record of identifying and developing exceptional talent to build high performing teams.
- A collaborative leader, who communicates equally well with senior leaders, front-line employees, and cross-functional groups.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
How you will lead
- Proactively collaborate with Risk Operations leadership and leaders across the organization to identify, design, and deliver streamlined, simplified, and durable supporting processes and systems, as well as a comprehensive education program to enable our Risk Operations organization. This includes supporting completely new products and features, improving the customer risk experience, and enabling existing Risk processes.
- Continually assess environment for improvement opportunities. Research and gather data to develop effective business cases to communicate why an improvement is necessary and the expected outcome of improvements. Effectively manage projects and drive continuous improvements while leading the organization through the associated changes.
- Promote speed, quality, and shared vision by getting the right people involved in decisions early and by being clear about roles and responsibilities.
- Make timely decisions based upon information, analysis, experience, and judgment, while explicitly sharing the criteria for decisions.
- Develop high performing teams by understanding and facilitating team dynamics, recognizing and developing great talent, recommending areas for improvement, and ensuring consistency in thoughts and actions. Foster a calming influence in tense or stressful situations and lead by teaching as well as role modeling the Intuit values. Always lead by example.
- Upon our return to the office environment, this role may require ~10% travel.
