Administrative Support Coordinator I
Center for Engagement, Service and the Public Good (ESPG)
Salary Range: $3,064-$5,148/Monthly
Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday
– Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; non-exempt classification.

Temporary appointment expires on or before one year from date of hire; may be extended; may become permanent.
Essential Functions: The Prison Graduation Initiative Support Coordinator reports to the executive director of the Center for Engagement, Service and the Public Good (ESPG), and is responsible for administrative support and coordination of activities for the Prison BA Graduation Initiative.

The incumbent will take a leadership role in a full range of clerical and administrative functions to support the program: budget management of external grant funding; processing payments and invoices; as well as facilitating budget transfers and stipends to on-campus partners, faculty, and consultants.

The incumbent will: liaison with the College Coordinator(s) at the prison(s) and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to coordinate administrative tasks such as the duplication of course materials, tracking applications, and maintaining records for students and alumni; assist the executive director manage and respond to inmate correspondence; and facilitate communication between faculty, students, the Center for Engagement, Service and the Public Good, Cal State LA partner departments and Project Rebound at Cal State LA.
Required Qualifications & Experience: Three years of full-time general office experience, which included providing ongoing work coordination and/or lead responsibilities with notable accountability for the work results of support staff or unit administrative function.

Must possess strong ethical standards, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to confidentiality interact with different university departments.

Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.

Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience with CSU budget processes and procedures, including Data Warehouse, working at a CSU, and working with vulnerable populations and students.
