We are currently searching for an experienced Legal Support Services Supervisor to oversee the Firm’s Legal Assistants, Administrative Assistants, Word Processing, and Docketing groups. This pivotal role will contribute to enhancing collaboration, streamlining workflows, and ensuring the efficient functioning of the firm’s legal support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a national team of legal assistants, administrative assistants, and other support staff.

2. Process Optimization:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance overall efficiency.

3. Staffing and Workload Management:

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels and coverage to meet the ongoing demands of the Firm.
  • Coordinate assignments to ensure a balanced workload allocation; manage overtime and facilitate after-hours support.

4. Attorney Collaboration:

  • Conduct regular attorney debriefs, project follow-ups, and assessments to maintain high-quality work product.

5. Professional Development:

  • Facilitate professional development, annual performance reviews, compensation recommendations, and employee relations support.
  • Develop training programs for support staff.

6. Technology Integration:

  • Collaborate with the IT Department to ensure the support teams are equipped and proficient with the necessary software.

7. Legal Knowledge and Training:

  • Stay informed about changes in legal procedures and provide ongoing training to support staff accordingly.

8. Recruitment and Budgeting:

  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new legal support staff.
  • Contribute to budgeting and financial management related to support team expenses.

9. Travel:

  • Travel, as needed (up to 20%), among offices to attend Firm events and meetings and foster relationships with attorneys and support staff.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, legal, or related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • 4-5 years of experience working in a Legal Assistant or Legal Support Services capacity in a law firm.
  • Additional 1-2 years of experience working in a supervisory or workflow coordination capacity.
