Ladera homes 1: Direct Support Professional

Ladera Homesis currently hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to assist developmentally disabled individuals with daily living needs in a group home residential setting.

Under direct supervision of highly qualified professionals, DSPs monitor and support our clients’ needs, both physically and emotionally.

DSPs have the unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in healthcare and develop caring relationships with our clients.Responsibilities:Assists clients with moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, automobiles, and with eating, dressing, and groomingEnsures clients are clean, dry, and all essential adaptive equipment is properly in place (such as arm splints, seat belts, and abdominal binders)Follows the training program as outlined in the clients’ Individual Service Plan (ISP)Respects and promotes the individual rights of clients, including maintaining the dignity of each person during daily care proceduresProvides direct client care and other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s) and/or nursing staffAttends required in-service trainingsFollows company policies at all times regarding the safe and proper lift and transfer of individualsPerforms other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needsQualifications:Must be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredSufficient reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills in English to perform essential duties and responsibilitiesAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with othersAbility to successfully pass all post offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United StatesAbility to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to fifty (50) poundsSOME RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:Enhance personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding assistance.Assist individuals with domestic duties as necessary such as meal preparation, tidying up living areas, etc.Support children, teenagers, and adults at home and in the community to engage and stimulate learningSupport each individual’s existing relationships and increase their networks of friends/acquaintances.Supervision/companionshipREQUIREMENTS:Experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities or DSP certificateTwo forms of ID such as Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, or Social Security CardTB Test within the last two years (or chest X-Ray within the last 5 years)Valid CPR/First Aid Card (Resources available if not CPR/First Aid certified)Two professional ReferencesIf you have any questions please call, 1-323-788-1015 Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.Qualification includes fingerprint clearance, Current Physical & TB within the last 6 months, Valid First Aid/ CPR, DSP I & II Certification.

Must have valid Drivers license and be Insurable.
