Desktop Support Specialist

Lots of firms talk about promoting from within but tend to find someone from the outside that is just a little better fit But the SVP of a 3000-person fast growing company that I am working with started out as a Desktop Support Specialist and is now the Global Support Manager after 5 promotions in a little over 10 years.

He is not alone as several other Desktop Support Techs have moved to Director, SVP, and even MD roles within Support or different technology groups.

The expectations are high and if you are able to meet or exceed them you will be rewarded with the chance to move around to other groups or move up the Technical Support Ladder.

And yes, compensation is awesome too.
