Airframe Customer Support Engineering, located in sunny Seal Beach, California is seeking Experienced (Level 3) and Senior (Level 4) Structural Analysis Engineers to join our team and make an immediate impact on both urgent and long-term fleet support. Position Overview:

We are over 500 engineers strong in support of our fleet. You will be able to combine the deep expertise and resources of the entire Boeing enterprise with the flexibility and fast pace of a small company setting.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve engineering data that supports airframe repairs and service bulletins for Boeing aircraft.
  • Performs detailed structural analysis (static strength, durability/fatigue and damage tolerance) to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis supports responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and to show compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Researches and prepares data to support definition of structural design requirements.
  • Provides expertise to respond to customer inquiries and investigate failures to maintain continued airworthiness/mission capability. Respond to emergent requests for safety of flight decisions.
  • Account for customer impact of solutions and provide temporary repair options when a permanent repair is not feasible.
  • Develops, deploys and supports in-house and commercial application software to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
  • Boeing Customer Support operates to serve our global customers on a 24/7/365 basis. While this position’s initial work assignment will be on 1st Shift, Boeing reserves the right to later change the work assignment to a nonstandard shift (e.g. afternoon, night time, weekends) to meet its business needs. Boeing offers rate incentives for these non-standard shifts.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
  • 3 or more years of experience in structures analysis engineering.
  • Experience with structural analysis methods and repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods used in maintenance programs).
  • Willing to support a 24/7 on-call rotation schedule and the ability to work variable shifts, including weekends or overtime.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with Boeing aircraft models highly preferred.
  • Experience using NASTRAN and PATRAN finite element modeling software.
  • Experience working transport category airplane certification or production/fleet support projects involving FAA approval.
  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes and procedures.
  • Masters of Science in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace engineering preferred.
  • Ability to work with diverse teams.
  • Experience with teaching, mentoring, and leading teams.

Typical Education/Experience:

Experienced (level 3) – Bachelor’s degree and typically 5 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.

Senior (Level 4) – Bachelor’s degree and typically 9 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a Master’s degree with typically 7 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years’ experience in an engineering classification.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range:

Experienced (Level 3):  $102,000 – $138,000

Senior (Level 4):  $125,000 – $169,200
