Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Mission Support Systems Engineer located in El Segundo, CA.

The selected candidate will be responsible for resolution and enhancement of operational space vehicle and supporting ground system health, safety and performance tasks as part of a factory sustainment team.

The selected candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that presents a wide variety of technical challenges that require creativity, excellent communication skills and collaboration to ensure mission success.

Position Responsibilities:Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.Develop and coordinate resolution of operational issues and enhancements with space vehicle and ground system experts.Collaborate with external organizations to apply lessons learned and best practices.Represent Boeing with recommendations to the customer and other stakeholders.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S.

Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics10+ years of experience in space or ground systems engineering5+ years of experience in the resolution of space or ground system issues5+ years of experience in leading multi-discipline technical teams Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):5+ years of experience in role that interfaces with external customers and external organizations5+ years of experience with successfully implementing best practices and performance improvements Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

PhD+9 years’ related work experience, Master+12 years’ related work experience).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
