Job Purpose:
The IT Project Support Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing the Project Support team in the provision of support and coordination services for complex systems production related issues for the Forever 21 Distribution Center (DC) located in Perris, California.
The Assistant Manager will participate in and at times lead application and infrastructure projects.
The Assistant Project Management is the point of contact for all IT related needs for the DC site and liaisons with all corporate IT and 3rd party vendor IT teams.
This position has one direct report responsible for desktop, mobile computers and network support.
Reporting to the Director of IT Supply Chain/PMO, the Assistant Manager, IT Project Support is responsible for:
· Assisting IT Project Managers, developers, and IT support technicians in project planning, testing and implementation
· Partnering with clients and key partners to gather any pertinent information for project development or support needs.
· Collaborating with project teams and clients to review program features, specifications, and functionality, ensuring that all project requirements are met to meet the needs of the business.
· Partaking in engineering tests and validating product designs to ensure all production schedules are followed and product(s) meet specifications and quality requirements.
· Supervising the activities of an onsite support technician, including assigning pro-active maintenance tasks and mentoring for success
· Preparing activity and progress reports for all outstanding activities/projects
· Driving continuous improvement and innovative solutions where needed
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:
· Must have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or applicable work experience
· Must have a minimum of 3+ years of experience in an IT role or a similar duty; At least 1-2 years of experience in a management/supervisor capacity
· Must have a thorough understanding of IT concepts and application
· Must have a general knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Must have excellent organizational and planning skills, including the ability to multitask
· Previous experience in Manhattan Warehouse Management System, HighJump or other leading industry WMS highly desirable
· Previous experience in a highly mechanized distribution center experience highly desirable
