Application Engineer – Sales Support (Ridgefield, WA)

OWP Engines is hiring an Applications Engineer to support the Sales Team at our Ridgefield, WA location.

OWP Engines is a master distributor of Perkins engines with full-service dealers throughout the Western United States.

OWP Engines provides new and remanufactured Perkins engines for more than 160 original equipment manufacturers, offering best-in-class engines for material handling, agriculture, construction, mining and industrial uses.

We operate the largest diesel engine remanufacturing program in North American and have remanufactured Perkins engines for more than 20 years.

The primary function of the Applications Engineer Sales Support role is to partner with the Sales Team to ensure the successful installation of Perkins industrial power solutions into OEM customer machines.

A successful candidate will be able to manage several projects simultaneously during various stages of completion.

This includes technical support to the internal sales staff and collaboration with the after-market team, including warranty administration, up-fit and service technicians.

Effective time management, strong communication and organizational skills are a must.

Close interaction with sales team, vendors, techs, other engineers and customers is required to fully understand and manage each project in its entirety.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Review project documents from OEM for compliance with engine requirements/specification.* Provide engineering support to upfit technicians and sales personnel.* Provide mechanical design support on engine tier upgrades for OEM customers.* Provide application support to customers and project engineers when needed.* Facilitate engine appraisal and installation audits for compliance with government and engine manufactures requirements.* Partner with A&I team to design and evaluate custom components or systems for unique customer applications.* Work independently during entire course of the project with minimal supervision.* Ensure applications and installations are viable in support of customer/OEM.* Input data and manage projects in engine OEM A&I portals or manual recordkeeping per documented internal processes.* Interface with engine OEM factory application engineering for technical support.* Facilitate and organize timely equipment delivery to project location.* Coordinate final project review between OWP, OEM and customer, where necessary.

REQUIREMENTS: * Strong communication skills.* Ability to write and understand technical applications.* Excellent computer skills required.* B.S.

in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent work experience.* A minimum of 5 years of technical experience within the industrial engine and/or power generation industry, or closely related field.* Experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks is strongly preferred.* Ability to travel up to 50-75%.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.* Ability to see, touch, and hear.* Ability to use repetitive motion (hands, wrist, arms, and fingers).* Ability to travel by car and air (extended periods)* Ability to communicate verbally, by email and use of a telephone.* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
