JOB SUMMARYOversee the day to day Construction Operations of services within the Construction Department.
The Senior Manager plans, assigns and directs employees who are engaged in construction, of telecommunications systems and support items.
This includes the design, construction, implementation and testing of services within the So Cal North Management Area of the West Region.
Construction includes both Outside and Inside Plant, Fiber and Coax Networks.
The ideal candidate should have experience and be familiar with the practices and laws governing Communications Construction for individual cities serviced by the North MA as well as the state of California.
Ensure that services are activated to meet occupancy dates within Capital, and Expense budgets.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee Construction Operations of Commercial and or Residential Services.Manage, motivate, train, and mentor a team of individuals in support of company and department goals, provides employee evaluation and guidance to direct reports.Manage, review, and negotiates contract agreements on behalf of Spectrum to provide facilities, fiber, building and existing conduit structures.Planning, development and construction of new telecommunications buildings and sites and has to make sure that users are satisfied and there is internal consistencyCreate budgets and oversee capital and operational spending and cash flow percentages for the Construction Department.Communicate and cooperate with City, County, State, local power and telephone companies, other cable companies and any other entity with mutual Construction related interests, problems or concerns and/or projects in our franchise areas and maintains positive operational relationships with these entities.In partnership with executive leadership at both MA and Regional level and Government Affairs, resolve legal/operational issues with the City, County, State, local power and telephone companies and other cable companies regarding construction related items.Collaborate with and advise appropriate departments on system changes, technical or construction problems affecting the Management Area or Region.Maintain close partnership with internal customers in Business Class and Technical Operations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSSkills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communication in a clear, straight-forward, and professional mannerMetric Driven leader who can clearly communicate Roles and Responsibilities as well as expectations to the team and ManagementAbility to manage large capital and operational budgets.Must possess extensive knowledge of local, State and utility rules and regulations governing the construction and maintenance of the Cable TV and telephony systems.Must be able to read and interpret technical documents, Fiber/HFC systems design blue prints, legal documents related to easements and rights of way, and various communications systems and sub-systems.EDUCATIONBachelor’s degreeRELATED WORK EXPERIENCE10+ years’ experience in a management positionExtensive experience in all facets of cable and telephony operation and construction in Support of Residential and Commercial Services.WORKING CONDITIONSDriving is a requirement for this position.
